Founded in 1994 under the leadership of Lamar Smith, the firm specializes in world-class residential and commercial development. After years of experience in the Atlanta "sprawl" market, Smith knew that coastal Georgia needed responsible, environmentally-sensitive development.

Over the years, Smith has studied responsible land development strategies and New Urbanism to maximize green space and decrease sprawl. He attended workshops with Andreas Duany, the visionary for Seaside and Celebration in Florida. Smith continues to research and visit communities around the United States that are models for responsible growth, working with local planning and zoning boards, city councils, and other developers on issues of smart growth. He continues to expand his team with the most talented land planners, builders, landscapers, engineers, biologists, marketing, and demographics experts.
